The sky was full of dark clouds and it was pouring rain when we woke up on Friday morning. Our outdoor plans needed adjusting…. fast!
Enter: The Aquarium of the Pacific
We have been once before, but not since Lucas was a year old. You can read about it here. I was bound and determined to make this visit different.
I have always thought there was something incredibly soothing about watching fish and other glorious sea creatures effortlessly move through water and clearly, so does Lucas.
He stood and starred completely mesmerized by starfish, sea horse, otters, jelly fish and stringray. The expression on his face was calm and wonderful.
It was the perfect rainy day outing for us.
Plus, we got to wear our new rain boots!
Beautiful photos…I love going to an aquarium!!! Glad it turned out to be such a special day for you!
Thank you, we had a great day!
So much about this post makes me smile!

Thank you and welcome! New followers make me so happy.
Popping over from Shell’s.
We lived 10 minutes from an Aquarium when my oldest was a toddler and you are right, it was always very soothing. A visit was a surefire way to turn around a day that was heading south!
Thanks for visiting!
I decided we need to visit the aquarium more often. 🙂
Awesome photos, Tonya… and nice boots!! We have snow here. Went for a walk outside yesterday – fun but cold! Time to think about some of these indoor activities!
ANYTHING to get out of the house, right?
YES!!!!
What a great day! We lack places like that to go to when the weather is crappy here… I’m happy that you had so much fun and I LOVE the boots : ) Very cute photo of Lucas and the diver!
I got so lucky with that shot!
We had a very good day.
I hope Luc is home safe and sound.
We love our zoo so much, but I wish we were closer to an aquarium. The closest “real” one is in Chicago, and that’s a trip we haven’t done with the kids yet.
Your photos are gorgeous!!
Thanks! Lucas and I had a terrific day. I heart aquariums. I’d love to check out the one on Chicago sometime.
That’s such a great place to go for half a day.
We had a lot of fun! Today ended up being our play inside all day day. Not as fun!
I need to take my Monkey to an aquarium, that looks awesome!
Oh, you should! It was so much fun.
I LOVE sea life! I can’t wait to have a baby to drag with me, so George doesn’t have to pretend to be enjoying himself at another visit to Seaworld or The Georgia Aquarium.. 🙂
The rain boots are so sweet!
What a fun day! I took my girls to the Monterey Aquarium over the summer and they loved it.
That picture with Lucas giving the scuba diver a high five is so neat!! I too love watching sea creatures and the water really is so calming to me. I might need to get another fish… we’ll see… I have never owned a pair of rain boots. I’ve never thought there was much need for them really. I am excited to wear my Oprah huggs soon. 🙂
I love aquariums. So much fun to go and look at all the stuff with a kid (when it turns out well, that is..)
