I grew up overseas so I have been fortunate to see a lot of the world, but there are still places I want to visit.
Topping my list right now, in the order of which they may be visited, are:
Palm Springs – I know, I know, I was just there (read all about my recent trip here) and it’s only 90 minutes from my front door, but I am craving some consistent sunlight, lounging by the pool with the latest celebrity gossip magazines, a good book and yummy cocktails with cool names like “The Julie”; and some alone time with my husband. For the record, all the other destinations on my list will include Lucas.
Vancouver, Canada – My husband spent nine months in Vancouver several years ago and has always spoken so highly of his experience, the scenery, the accessibility to nature and outdoor activities and the people. The way he talks about it makes me want to go!
Greece – Ever since I saw Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Mama Mia, I have wanted to go to Greece. All terrible movies, but the stark contrast between the gorgeous blue Mediterranean sea and white buildings, the rich history and authentic sadziki are all very alluring.
My list of “must see” destinations is never ending… Croatia, the Galapagos, Ireland and Tokyo are high on the list too.
I would also love to take Lucas on an African safari one day. There’s nothing else on earth like being within 30 feet of an elephant, lion, zebra or giraffe. To date, that has been my favorite trip.
Where do you want to go?

Yep, safari was one of my favorites too and would love to go back with my son.
I always wanted to go to Iceland. Was so close, so many times. One day.
In the mean time we live as close as we can to heaven right now…
I would love to just take off and go see all kinds of places. But an African Safari….I think I'm adding that to the bucket list, sounds amazing!
Yah, an African Safari is like my dream trip. Someday…Sigh. I'm with you on everything except Palm Springs. Not my fave.
I haven't been to any of the places you mentioned.. I would like to go to Vancouver though.. to meet up with my hub's relatives.
You should see if you can hop a ride with Mama Kat to Greece when she goes.
Spain. Italy. Malta. I've been dying to go to these places forever!
Your photo of Greece has me dreaming! I have a long and ever changing list too, currently China and Greenland are at the top.
Oh yes, Greece, please! I would love to go. And Africa!
Vancouver – ah yes, do it! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and travelled through the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff. The most amazing scenery, simply breathtaking!
All of those places sound lovely! I would also love to go to Greece and Ireland since I am part Greek and Irish. Would love to learn more about my roots 🙂
I want to go backpacking in Europe and I really want to go back to Hawaii!
Greece does sound lovely. Really though I would have to pick Japan…If for no other reason to enable my Hello Kitty addiction…oh and the culture. Great post. Visiting from Mama Kat's.
Vancouver is pretty awesome (I've lived here all my life!) we do have wonderful mountains and the ocean and forest. Lots of great things to see and do.
Just a note – the Icefields/Jasper & Banff are a long way from Vancouver! So make sure you plan accordingly!
ah greece…that would be AMAZING!!! 🙂
We have very similar travel destinations! Vancouver is amazing and you should go. I haven't spent a lot of time there – but we've been to Whistler a few times skiing and we always spend a night in Vancouver. Beautiful place. I really want to go to Greece as well and the Galapagos. I do miss how much we used to travel!
Oh a African Safari would be totally unbelievably beyond awesome!
Vancouver IS gorgeous. Loved it when I was there last year. But the list of other "wishful destinations" makes me want to pack my passport in a backpack and ditch my real life for a while!
i have a crazy long list too. you picked some good ones! Greece is near the top of my list.
Let's go to Greece together! That's at the top of my list too! : )
I've never been to any of these places, but Palm Springs and Greece are definitely on my list!
If you visit Vancouver, I will cross the bit of ocean and come and show you around 🙂
