I definitely have a son!
Lucas has become a very active, very loud, outgoing, fearless, rambunctious little boy.
It feels like he is on the move from sun up until sun down. Actually, it doesn’t feel that way all at, it is that way. There have been many days recently that he has been on a nap protest making for a 13 hour day. IF he does take a nap, it’s from 10:00 – 11:30, which still makes for a very VERY l o n g afternoon. Where he gets his energy, I have no clue!
No matter how you slice it, he doesn’t want to miss a thing and is really into screaming, or rather screeching, throwing, pushing, brushing off and sometimes having a full blown temper tantrum until he gets his way or moves on to something else.
Um, can you say: challenging, exhausting and often confusing?
I thought that the terrible twos (or threes) were a little ways off. Could my little monster be getting a head start? And what’s with the no naps? Please tell me that this phase will soon pass! I rely on these naps and know he needs them too.
Any useful tips, tricks or insight into the toddler male (or adult male, for that matter) mind would be much appreciated. š
The best is yet to be?

OH, I remember these times so well! Love your use of the WOW, in such a fitting post.
I found that it was almost worse to try and tire my son out, hoping for a nap. This almost always resulted in him being exhausted, me being exhausted, and still no nap!! I did try to push it back to after lunch at least, I agree that the late morning nap makes for TOO LONG of an afternoon! Best of luck…and thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I have 2 girls, so I can't help. Only to say that I have a few friends who have all boys, and there definitely is a point where the switch is flipped and they "turn into" boys from babies. š

Two girls too, but with very different temperaments. First daughter is the one that used to stuff little things into her ears, nose or try and taste stuff, like almond oil or shampoo!
NĀ° 2 is the the one who puts the whole roll of toilet paper in the toilets, empties tubs of toothpaste or climbs on furniture etc.
And yes, as soon as there is no more noise in the house, I know they are up to something naughty, dangerous or whatever!
Good luck! : ))))

Ah, my little boy is rambunctious as well. Hence, this week's word. Just think how much easier it will be for us when they're teenagers than for our counterparts with girls though.

Oh yes, I can understand! I just wrote a post about this on how my son is going from little to big boy! There are so many innate charachteristics to boys…I have a daughter too and the difference is striking. Boys are fun but def. have far more energy than you could imagine…they need to go, go , go! Run your little munchkin ragged and try to skip his am nap so he'll take a longer pm nap and you can relax too š

He certainly is a little boy! I have seen those temper tantrums first hand and they aren't pretty! Whew! I can't get used to the back arching thing he does.. Why do kids do that?! We also really need to get Lucas hooked onto two naps a day. I know that will make your life so much easier and things will run a lot smoother around there.
