I have a serious question that I doubt anyone can answer, but I’m going to throw it out there anyway:
What is the deal with the volume level on children’s toys?
Most of the ones we have mercifully have a high and low volume setting, but not all, which are set to the permanent **OBNOXIOUS** setting. I mean, c’mon!! Really? Some of them are just too annoying for words.
And why are the voices coming out of these brightly colored pieces of plastic always women? And wining women at that? Men’s voices can be cheery and delightful too.
Granted, sometimes the jingles are fun and even catchy and a great way for munchkins to learn nursery rhymes, colors, shapes, letters and numbers, but why do they have to be so LOUD?
I can’t help but wonder, if they are so disturbing for us, what damage could they possibly be causing sensitive little ears?
The best is yet to be.

Ugh!! Seriously, I know. They usually have two volume settings: Louder Than It Needs To Be and Just Obnoxious!

True, there are several of those toys that are super annoying and I would be lying if I said I didn't get a slight little headache around a couple of them… Having said that, some of them are damn catchy and I can't help but hum a little to myself their tunes later on. : )

Especially when you are stay at home Moms… You hear the d.. things all day long! I remember a V-Tech phone that drove me mad! Once I was driving and one button must have got stuck and I couldn't not stop the car because on the motorway. I really thought I was going to go insane! Good luck for the coming month and maybe grab yourself a pair of earplugs!!! Oh yes, I know, you hate those things! I'm sure you'll get to like them one day 😉

I became a much more sensitive friend when gift giving to others after I had a baby because so many toys make so much noise. Now I am all about gifting books and other quiet items.
Have you had that scary moment when your hubby is out of town, its the middle of the night and unbeknownst to you, one of the toys batteries is about to go out so the damn thing starts making noise?
That has happened to me a few times. The first time is scared the S%&t outta me!
