Memorial Day weekend is the official/non-official kick off to summer.
Summer means lots of time spent outdoors, which translates to shorts, tank tops, flip flops and [insert shutter here] bathing suits.
Like most women, I hate shopping for a new bathing suit, but with an ever changing body, Lucas’ swimming lessons and an upcoming trip to Hawaii (!), it was time to bite the bullet…
It was also time to face the fact that I can no longer pull off a string bikini. Not that I ever could very well, but thanks to my post pregnancy body, (now almost two years old) it’ll never happen.
Sigh.
Two hours and 19 suits in a variety of colors and styles later, (I am NOT exaggerating, I actually counted!) I came home with not one, but two suits.
Go me!
I went with a demure one piece tank with perfectly positioned ruching and a practical tankini halter, just like my mother used to wear.
Oh well. I’ve earned this pouch, I made a baby for God’s sake!

I always fall for the ones that say on the tag, "Instantly Slims You!" You'd think I'd learn. I just don't have a good perception of what they will "really" look like when I don't have my granny underwear and bra hanging out when I try them on in the dressing room. Haven't worn one for 3 years now.
A few weeks ago on "the Middle" tv show the daughter had to go swim suit shopping and it was a nightmare and brought back so many unhappy memories of teenage years and trying on swimsuit after swimsuit..I don't think it ever gets better!

Show me them when I see you on Wednesday! I wanna see! Gina and I had a whopping 5 minutes to shop for a swimsuit in Hawaii this week! Fing United! Ugh! I'll probably never wear this suit again either…oh well… Glad you found two suits. And for the record, you have a hot bod and looked and still do look amazing in a bikini. Stop being so freakin' modest!!

I purchased a tankini recently too. I wasn't going to buy one, but I said "screw it" I am going to enjoy this summer just as much as those skimpy 16 year olds!! LOL! Enjoy your new suits and may you have fun in the sun!
I love it! You have earned the pouch! That is awesome that you found 2 suits! I cannot even buy swimsuits in a store anymore. =( Not because of the pouch but the boobs that won't go away.
